CEREC

Crowns in a single visit

What is CEREC?

CEREC, short for single-visit ceramic reconstructions, uses a sophisticated camera that takes a snapshot photo inside your mouth. Then using it high-tech computer software will assess and design the reconstruction of your tooth – all in just one single visit.

What are the benefits of CEREC?

  • Less invasive: Minimal drilling of the healthy tooth means much less drilling overall.
  • Time saving: What used to happen in 14 days can now be complete in 2 hours.
  • No more impressions: Because the shape of your tooth is scanned by CEREC there is no need for lengthy and uncomfortable dental impressions to be taken.
  • Perfect new tooth: Your new tooth is milled immediately by CEREC there and then from a hard wearing dental bio-ceramic material.

State of the art bio-ceramics

It’s this new dental bio-ceramic produced especially for CEREC reconstructions which is the real secret of the system. Unlike traditional porcelain or gold or plastic, it expands and contracts with your living tooth structure. It feels and looks just like your normal healthy teeth.

This also means that hot drinks or ice-cream do not create temperature shocks for your tooth like traditional materials such as silver or epoxy.
