Keeping Up With Your Child’s Dental Health

Set your kids up for top dental health for life…

Dr Darryl Marsh writes… In this blog entry I conclude my series of articles on caring for your child’s dental health.

Your child’s body is growing and changing… and their mouth and teeth are no exception. Their baby (deciduous) teeth get loose, new teeth come through, and the jaws are constantly growing.

Much of the damage to our adult teeth occurs in our childhood years. No parent wants their child to have a stressful or difficult dental appointment, nor have their child deal with a painful cavity or abscess. Certainly no parent wants their child carry that emotional baggage with them through the rest of their lives.

As a parent, we want what’s best for our children – to have a beautiful, white smile and strong and healthy teeth. By choosing a family dentist who caters for children and following the advice outlined in these series of blog articles your child can avoid the painful dental problems of cavities which plague many children.

“The good news is that often, when problems are identified early, they are usually easily corrected and ensure your child’s mouth is developing in a healthy and pain-free manner.”

What to do from here?

We recommend you discuss this information in these articles with your dentist so that together you can develop a programme of prevention for your child. If you do not have a regular dentist, or if you wish to book a consultation with our practice, please contact us.

We would be happy to help you and your child work towards excellent dental health.

Keep Smiling!
