Kids crooked teeth

At Today’s Dentistry, we get many parents who are worried that their kids adult teeth are coming through crooked, overcrowded, sticking out or gappy.

In this article we look at some of the reasons for kids crooked teeth.

Kids crooked teeth can happen when there just isn’t enough room in their jaws for their teeth to fit normally (whereas gappy teeth can occur when there’s extra space in their jaws). Many kids crooked teeth and bite problems are predetermined by the size and alignment of your child’s jaws.

A dental implant is a titanium screw that integrates with your jaw to replace the lost tooth root. A porcelain crowned tooth is then attached to the top of the implant to complete your smile.

The dental implant procedure has been around for over 30 years and gives you the closest result to having your own natural teeth back.

What’s the Buzz?

Sadly, Shannon finished up at Today’s Dentistry this month. With her husband Tony’s (Dr Tony Cakar who used to work here too) work now at the Gold Coast and baby #2 due in April, Shannon and Tony (pictured below with the team at last years MS walk) are relocating the family and are very excited about the sea change. We have all formed firm friendships over the years of working together so Shannon and Tony will be greatly missed by the team and patients at Today’s Dentistry- but of course we wish them every happiness with their growing family and new home.

Belinda has returned from 6 months of maternity leave and you will see her back in the practice on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Hayley will be starting her maternity leave next month, with her little arrival due soon after that.

Deanne recently became a Nanna to beautiful baby Milly and is relishing in the role – even though we can’t believe she is a grandma!

Following a busy summer holiday at Today’s Dentistry Darryl has just enjoyed a well deserved break with his family and some relaxing time at the beach.

Finally, Paige is competing in her second Muay Tai (Thai kick boxing) competition next weekend and has been training hard in preparation. Best of luck Paige and take care in the ring!
